Your adventure begins with a scenic 1.5-hour drive from Siem Reap to Phnom Kulen National Park, a revered spiritual site in Cambodian history. Ascend the hilltop to witness the country’s largest reclining Buddha, masterfully carved into sandstone. Continue to the sacred River of 1000 Lingas, where the riverbed is etched with symbolic carvings honoring the Hindu god Shiva, alongside depictions of other deities. After exploring Phnom Kulen, the tour continues to Koh Ker Temple, a remote archaeological treasure located approximately 120 kilometers northeast of Siem Reap. Once the capital of the Khmer Empire, Koh Ker is nestled within a sparsely populated jungle region. Over 180 sanctuaries have been discovered across its 81-square-kilometer protected zone, though only about two dozen are accessible due to dense forest and ongoing demining efforts. The highlight is Prasat Thom, a striking pyramid temple that rises dramatically from the jungle floor, offering a rare glimpse into Cambodia’s ancient architectural legacy.
